One student is dead and another in critical condition after a person opened fire at Cold Spring's Rocori High School Wednesday.
A spokeswoman for St. Cloud Hospital identifies the boy who died as Aaron Rollins, a senior. His age was not available.
One victim was shot in the school's weight room, the other in the gym. Wednesday, officials say the shooting happened while students were between classes around 11:00 a.m.
Cold Spring Police Chief Phil Jones says it appears a coach, Mark Johnson, talked the suspect into surrendering a small-caliber gun. When police arrived, the boy was in the custody of the school's staff in an administrative office. The weapon is described as a "small caliber handgun."
Students tell KARE 11's Brad Woodard that the shooter had been the subject of teasing recently. Police have arrested a ninth grade student in the attack. The victims are another ninth-grade boy and a 12th-grade male.
Law enforcement and school officials worked to clear the school after the shooter was taken into custody. They took a roll call of all students before releasing them. School officials decided to shutdown the city's high school, middle school, and elementary school this afternoon.
Cars are lined up along the road to the school as frightened parents arrive to pick up their children. Aerial photographs show crowds of emotional students on the school grounds.
Cold Spring lies about 16 miles southwest of St. Cloud in Stearns county. The high school serves about 830 students from 9th to 12th grade.
The name for Rocori Area School District comes from the first two letters of each of the communities it serves — Rockville, Cold Spring and Richmond. The district serves 2,600 students in elementary, middle and high school.

When I first heard of the I new that this happened because of being bullied or being picked on. When I saw the news thay had interviews with students, and one girl said "Just because he was picked on he shot them" and that made me think, yeah it did, and it could have been prevented. I know what it's like to be picked on. It tears you up and kills your self esteem. These schools need to be more on the ball with bullies, they just chalk it up to kids being kids it not and school shootings are going to continue until something is done.
