We had to close our eyes and once we heard a sound, we had to write it down on a piece of paper. For some reason, this memory has been popping up a lot in my head lately. I think of it as a little reminder to take life slow and appreciate what's around you. Enjoying the free things in life! Loved it Kronk. |

Date: 9/17/2003 10:15:00 AM From Authorid: 62222 When I was kid I visited a friend of my mothers on a reservation in north dakota, I was only like 6 or so. I don't remember alot about the visit except that no one really played with me except a few of the kids that lived with my mom's friend. It was like an orphanage on the reservation almost. But before I left this old guy, and I mean old, came to see me. He said he wanted to see the white girl all the kids were talking about. Because the younger children were fightened that I was a ghost or a witch. He passed his hands over my eyes and smiled and said "this is no ghost". That was it. This poem kind of reminds me of him. ..."this is no ghost"...those words mean so much to me for some reason......<RegretfulHalo> |
