What high school classes should I take for nursing?

I've decided I want to be a nurse. I was gonna be a doctor but that takes so much time and money and it's doubtful I'll get a scholarship.

I want to get a 4 year R.N. but what my question is what classes should I take in high school. There's one elective I'll be taking my entire 4 years and that's band. But right now I'm in algebra, word processing, and honors history. Next semester I'll be in band, Intermediate Algebra, Physical science, and English.

But next year I'll be taking Geometry and Algebra 2 and physical science and of course band. But I dont know what else. Also I could do Algebra 2 my Junior year.

Any ideas??

Date: 9/16/2003 2:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 62222    I would suggest Anatomy if you school offers it. It won't matter in the end but it WILL help you through nursing school. Your high school classes won't factor as much as your college classes, but take anything that will make the burden of the college classes easier. And everyone should take anatomy at least once.<RegretfulHalo>
Date: 9/16/2003 2:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 15394    I'd say the maths and sciences I am currently in college taking my pre-requisite courses for the nursing program. Be sure and take chemistry, biology, and your maths

Date: 9/16/2003 4:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 7574    Go check out the colleges and see what you want to take. I've been looking at colleges a lot lately. I'm in dental vocational and I really like it. I've always wanted to be a dentist, and now my dream is coming true.. Check and see if your school has nursing vocational (my school does) Vocational is a really cool thing. I really like it. So, check it out...
Date: 9/16/2003 5:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 61966    I've wanted to do the same exact thing!! Some schools have special electives like Medical Sciences and other classes based on medical things (I forgot the name I was thinking of LoL) Check into those!! I hope that helps a lil.
Date: 9/16/2003 7:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 5252    you can take MedicalTerminology, that way you get ahead of your college classes. It is a college class, but if you take it in highschool you should get both highschool and college credit, and get a step up on your classes for college.
Date: 10/25/2024 7:07:00 PM  From Authorid: 55251    I wonder, did you ever become a nurse? Whatever you are doing now, I'm hoping you are happy. I also hope to see you again soon.
