I'm kinda scared...I keep blacking out when I do normal things... -Agent Q-

Pretty recently, (since about 2-3 days ago) I've started to blackout really easily. Not completely, but just a second ago I had the worst one I've ever had. I felt kinda woozy, kinda dizzy, and this grayish haze came over my eyes to the point where I couldn't see at all for 2-3 seconds. I felt like I almost passed out(which I've never done before in my life).

I blackout from changing positions, walking, and standing up, and it often happens when I'm getting out of bed in the morning. Just barely it happened because I was standing on my chair to reach for somehting high up on my desk. I'm kind of scared and I don't know what's happening! Please help..

Date: 9/15/2003 6:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 20956    this sometimes happens to me. Go to your doctor and get it checked out, it could be something serious. Maybe i should take my own advice!

Date: 9/15/2003 6:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 60685    Not to scare you (well maybe a bit), it could be nothing but then again you never know, so since you don't like doctors I bet you don't like hospitals so I think it would be better to go with the lesser of two evils. Then again Like Sun Angel I guess I shouldn't talk and just take my own advice, I haven't been blacking out but my back is killing me.
Date: 9/15/2003 7:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    It happens all the time if I stand up too fast.....However the only time I had it as bad as you discribe was last summer....i had a bad case of anemia....soooooooooooo take a multi vitamin (or iron supplement) tonight if you can and call your doc in the morning to get checked out

Date: 9/16/2003 6:24:00 AM  From Authorid: 13297    These types of things are nothing to mess around with. A simple blood test can often tell the root of the problem. I had this too at one point in time but it can be attributed to a variety of things: anemia, diabetes, hypoglycemia, etc. You really out to have a professional check it out in case it is serious. cheers,
Date: 9/16/2003 7:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 10245    I get this all the time too... I asked my doctor about it and I've passed this around USM quite a bit Are you thin? Do you normally have low blood pressure? If so, a quick change in position can cause a slight drop in your normally low blood pressure resulting in the lightheadedness and wooziness. Check with your doctor to rule out anything major, but most likely, that's what it is. To help prevent it, try to move more slowly. Give your body time to adjust to it's new position. Get out of bed in "steps"... first sit up and let the blood flow, then move to your feet. But again... check with your doctor to rule out any medical condition that might be causing it.
Date: 9/16/2003 7:57:00 AM  From Authorid: 51070    This happens to me when I'm ill or really exhausted. I guess you should just go to the doctor.
Date: 9/16/2003 9:35:00 AM  From Authorid: 59418    you might be anaemic...don't worry too much - maybe go get cheked out at the docs *hugs*
Date: 9/16/2003 9:37:00 AM  From Authorid: 30051    I had a sinus infection in my forhead area and that happened to me..You need to see a Dr.
Date: 9/16/2003 1:20:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 25756    urgh...thanks guys! Maybe I'm anemic...it's probably because I don't weat my broccoli...isn't that supposed to help? I'll probaby ask my parents about this first then if they say I need to go to the doctors, I'll go to the doctors. Lol.
