you can't ban music because you don't like it, i mean that's Mya it's supposed to sound provacative - it's just the sound and I mean if you think that songs controversial you've got a lot of news coming because there are songs a lot worse and the video rocks! A lot of songs have subtle nuances in them that most people don't get but as long as it's done with some taste I don't really see the problem with it. We all have the power to shut off the radio or flip the station just put it to some use. I'm not trying to bash you and if it sounds like I am I'm very sorry but freedom of speech says that people have the right to say that. That's just my view on it though and I'm not the grand master of the world and everyone's different. =-bootz-= |

and if you look at hilary duff's song "So Yesterday" she's keeping her boyfriends jeans. we all should be questioning that! =-bootz-= |

Well I'll tell you what. Women screeching about how useless men are offends me but I don't go off about it. I just choose to ignore it. I don't mean to sound harsh but that's the only way your going to solve your problem! |

i agree with Becky, sex sells so that is what they do. personally, i don't care for that Mya song anyway. i think the principal is "freedom of speech". people can do or say anything they want in songs. i see what you are saying though. it DOES bother me when my little sister walks around singing those songs, not realizing what exactally she is singing. and my son developed quite a liking for Eminem (the censored versions,of course). and it was all because they like to listen to the radio. but i know that people have the right to make whatever kind of music will sell. therefore, i just needed to be a little more observent of what they listen too. |

I suppose that is why most songs with strong languague like that usually get the explicit label on them with a warning. It is up to you to either listen to it or not. |

well, its kinda simple.... dont listen to it... I dont like hip hop at all... its the only station my alarm clock picks up and so I listen long enough to wake up to it, and I find myself in a fowl tired mood every time.... It is a freedom of speech, unfortunately, and if your parents physically tell you they dont like it, then be embarassed when they walk into a room with you listening to it... until then.. its a freedom. |

...I can see your point...kinda makes me cringe whenever I see young people (like early teens or even younger) gyrating to some explicit Hip Hop song...like HELLO, you're lucky if you just hit puberty let along fully understand what the lyrics are talking about. Still, that said, those songs are pretty sweet to groove down to at the Clubs when ya older, in older company...hehehe |
