My Brother -Clubby-

I was upstairs in my room, doing a jigsaw puzzle at 2 AM (I'm an insomniac), and suddenly I hear a loud WOOO! And music playing. Thinking I'm dreaming, I head to our basement lounge and to my shock, there are beer cans and other drink mixing items, with him and his friend whooping and yelling at the tv at a sports show. Shocked, I ask what's going on when my brother runs in front of the drinks, hiding them from view. At that point I turned around and left. My brother is 16, and ARGH! They're playing air hockey now. What should I do about my brother drinking? I think he's...drunk...and he was always such a great role model...

Date: 8/27/2003 12:34:00 AM  From Authorid: 998    That is very young to be drinking that much, and he might be responsible for other underage friends being drunk too. I think he needs to be told the problems with drinking too much, by either you, your parents, or maybe another family member that you can trust to have a talk with your brother. If he just continues without understanding his actions, he could be an alcholic by the time he is legal age to drink. That could be sad. It never hurts to have someone talk to him. Good luck.
Date: 8/27/2003 12:36:00 AM  From Authorid: 53055    Well, you have yourself three options. You can let him keep doing it..which is NOT what you wanna go with, you can talk to him about it, that one is a definite go for, or you can tell your parents about it, this one is the last resort. Hope you can help him out...
Date: 8/27/2003 11:51:00 AM  From Authorid: 48279    tell your parents. he's 16, and i know 16 year olds will do those things, i mean i went through it, its just a "high school" thing ... tell your parents though cause he doesnt need to go through it. drinking isnt what its made out to be. if anything, its the total opposite.
