well I have a hamster, I'm not sure of the age, but just remember to try and clean the cage once a week or it starts to stink, that reminds me I have to do that, lol. Make sure you always have fresh water and food, they like to store the food in weird places so just be aware. If you plan to get lining to but in the bottom of the cage don't. As they like the sweet treats, the yograt drops and the fruit sticks. They are night animals so they make a lot of nosie at night and sleep during the day. I love my hamster, it does take work like any other pets but they are fun to play with. So if you get one at night but the hamster in the bathroom so you can sleep, and don't let any cats around them. That is all I can think of, if you want to learn more try getting a book from the library and if you have any more questions msg me.  |

I had one for about 5 years before he died of old age. They are good pets, but they ARE escape artists, make sure that it can't get out or you will have a heck of a time finding it!  |

Everybody else covered it. We've had three hampsters. You do have to work at keeping the cage clean. And they are nocturnal. I fed ours about midnight. The noise might bother you..them going around in the wheel. It seems like ours would be up from about midnight, to about eight in the morning. They can bite, and clamp on. They're fun, but it's a constant thing with cleaning the cage, and buying all of the stuff. Some of the packaged grains and seeds that I bought had bugs in it, so check it out first. They really like lettuce mix.  |

Awww ! Hamster =) Get a girl. And call it Jabbs! =) Yaaay! lol ...j/k I dunno, my moms cousin has 2 hamsters, the boys a cutie, so is the girl..BUT the girl bites and poops alot...the boys the innocent one. Im not sure if their all like that, or if its just the one my moms cousin has are weird..=) Good luck  |
