Nope..I wouldn't..The reason being is that I shouldn't have to pay even 10.00 for a cd when you have a whole cd of songs and there is only one good one and the rest is garbage....As for the concert tickets...I would probably do that,if and only if Ticketmaster was removed from the picture and allowed the venues to sell their own tickets.... |

Maybe...Pyriel has a good point. I still buy a lotta CD's and I dunno why I mean spending a $20 one one small item seems so stupid! I love Lifehouse though, when I went to see them it was the cheapest concert I've ever been to: $17 ($25 after ticketmaster had their say...) Most are way to dang expensive! U know artists only make 88 cents off a CD and thats if their BIG (like TLC big...) I'll gladly give about $5...that goes for the artists, the recording costs, and the promoting costs. Most of the other costs just go to greedy middle men who don't really do anything... |

$10 is still a ripoff, if it were more like $5 then I might consider? You can really tell you are getting ripped off when you go into one store and see a cd for $17 then go to another and see the same cd for $13. There doesn't need to be as much as a $4 difference on the same exact cd the same day (this actually happened to me) Besides brand name clothing cd's are one of the biggest ripoffs in stores. The ripoffs become evident if you read some interviews where bands talk about their record company. Ocasionally they are in good terms with them, but most of the time unless they are top sellers the bands don't get any money until they sell over 200,000 copies. |

Yeah if they were 5 dollars people would be buying a lot more CD's. Probably even some extra copies of the same cd's =p ~Mercedes |

Yeah I would definitely buy more cds if they were a realistic price. |

Yes! Yes !! Yes!!! Good for Tom Petty! Cheaper and volume is much better. Unfortunately stores have overhead so they charge more for CDs. Concert tickets have gone too far out of range, sorry, no artist is worth $165 in my mind. |

Tom Petty rocks (and has been doing so for a long time). I remember seeing him in concert for $18.00. Now I can see where prices need to go up, but any good business person does know, like Otter2 says, VOLUME (selling more units at a cheaper price) is better than trying to cover all your costs from the high price that fewer will purchase at. God Bless. |

I buy my cds off Amazon and ebay, I stopped buying them in stores, sometimes they are 19.99-25.00 and that doesn't include tax! I would buy more cds from stores if they were more resonable.<regretfulhalo> |

keep in mind this is tom freakin petty. the guys got staying power. punk kids buy tom petty albums as well as people in their 20's and 30's. so he sells a bulk of albums over the years and makes a profit. the flash in the pan pop and rap stars of todays music like to have their money up front fast because they will be forgotten in a month. doesnt mean the prices are right. but who wants to buy modern music anyways? |
