Author’s Note- This part will have a lot of information to give, like the previous part, so you have to listen carefully and read all of the sentences thoroughly.
Juya started talking. “My lord, you are not who you think you are. Your name isn’t Jeff, and the way you look right now is just a disguise.”
Jeff didn’t understand what Juya was saying, so he asked,” What are you talking about?”
Juya just continued. “My lord, the “parents” you live with on Earth are not your real parents. Your true parents died a long time ago, in the very place you are about to travel to, Cethra.”
There was a long pause, only between the three people sitting at the table. Jeff blinked a couple times, before the expression on his face changed from excitement to utter bewilderment. Lily and Juya knew that Jeff wouldn’t take it easy, but all they could do was wait for Jeff to regain self-control.
After what seemed like hours, it looked like Jeff had finally accommodated to what had just been said. He opened his mouth to say something, but nothing seemed to come out.
Seeing this, Juya asked if he should continue on. After a long stare, Jeff managed to say, “Yes, please.” That prompted Juya to continue, and so he did.
“You see, my lord, a long time ago, a great war raged between all of the inhabitants of Cethra. Your father, at the time, was “The King of Cethra,” and your mother was “The Queen of Cethra.” Despite their imperial appearance, your parents were very kind and generous folks, helping anyone in need whenever they were able to. All the good citizens of Cethra loved your parents, and praised them like their own. However, the criminals who lived there eventually became furious with them. The evildoers were like fleas compared to your powerful and majestic father, and it was your father’s job, not your mother’s, to keep Cethra in control.”
Then, Lily decided to step in and finish the rest of the story, so she motioned for Juya to stop talking, and continued from where he left off.
“My lord, your father was too powerful for the criminals to overpower. Since they already knew this, all of the criminals had a secret meeting, and formed an alliance. Their goal was to kill your father and mother and overtake their thrones, and to rule Cethra with awful tyrants. Legend has it that buried deep in a cave somewhere on the mountains of Cethra was a scroll with inscriptions that, when used in the proper way, will let loose a terrible and dominant monster that has strength beyond comprehension. They eventually found it, and with the proper ingredients and the right chanting, the fiend known as “Shucktoh” was unleashed. He stood more than 30 feet tall, with the shape of a dinosaur. Along with sharp, green scales and glowing, blood red eyes, it had sharp spikes running down his back and ending at the tip of its tail. Sharp claws were on his fingers and toes, and four horns existed on his head, two on each side. He also had the power of controlling fire and lightning, two forces of nature which, used in the proper method, can be lethal and devastating weapons.”
Jeff, while listening to the tale, suddenly blurted out, “If you people here in the afterlife knew about this, then why didn’t anyone here stop that from happening. Juya, I thought you were The Overseer of Cethra, so why didn’t you stop the criminals from doing this?
Juya calmly answered, “I am only here to look over Cethra. I, in no way, can interfere with the lifestyles of the populace that live there, whether physically or mentally. However, at any time, I can choose to send warnings to the residents that live there, and so I did. A couple days before Shucktoh was released from his entrapment, I went to your father and told him of the ominous news. He then announced to the whole nation of Cethra the oncoming threat of a war. Next, he sent out a draft to all of the citizens, asking them to join in the war. Amazingly, every single resident of Cethra who had even a little skill in combat signed up. They were all given weapons, and trained to fight against their enemies in warfare.”
Jeff interrupted again, this time saying, “Then how can Damien send his minions to The Above, in hopes of destroying it? If he can interfere with other peoples’ lives, then why can’t The Above do the same, and attack The Below?”
Lily answered, “We, of The Above, are peaceful, and thus, can’t fight against our enemies. We can try to persuade our foes to be nonviolent, though. Also, in The Prophecy, it says that we aren’t able to fight each other, The Above and The Below, or impede in other regions of the afterlife. However, it seems that The Below is breaking the rules of The Prophecy. My lord, you asked why we don’t do the same as The Below. To answer your question, if we start interfering with them, than an all out war might occur, which can result in the destruction of life. That is worse than breaking the rules of The Prophecy, so we don’t retaliate.”
Jeff barged in again, saying, “Then why do you send me to attack them?”
Juya replied, peacefully, “My lord, you really are not associated with us in the matter of bloodline, so you can do what we cannot. Plus, you are The Chosen One; the one individual that the Prophecy says will lead the entire afterlife into harmony. Thus, you go on various journeys, and every time, your goal is to stop the villains of The Below from accomplishing their wicked deeds.”
After that, Jeff finally understood the routine of the afterlife, but only some of it. He decided to take a look at The Prophecy, but right now, he had to keep listening. Jeff apologized by saying, “I’m very sorry for barging in and yelling like that. If you don’t mind, would you please continue, Juya, with the story?”
Juya said, “Of course, my lord, no need to be sorry. And, as you wish, I shall continue.” And continue he did.
