The California Govenor Recall (Just being curious something)

I know I live in Pennsylvania, and California is like 2000 miles away, but I have some curious questions.

One is, why is the Govenor being recalled. The Media Outlets that I follow, did not mention the reasons. What are the reasons. Obviously the Media, is not covering the everything, and they must have good reasons not too.

Another question is, the recall was initiated about Mid-July. How come there are so many canidates come in. In order to be a canidate, there is a long process. So how can these canidates already get the ballets.

Just being curious on somethings.

Davis tends to micromanage his staff so it has come back to haunt him. The reason there are so many candidates is that all you needed to get on the ballot was 65 signatures and $3500. So there were a lot of people with too much money and not enough sense.

IE constituants want the recall, because he is not taking care of business... one problem is, at the last minute he can resign, thereby placing his second in command into power, making the recall useless as it specifies Gray Davis and not his lieutenant governor... wouldn't that get some shorts in a bunch!!!
