I don't have mine done, but I would think that it hurts, and swell a little. Food with a lot of acid will more than like burn. Thats just my opinon. |

Mine didn't hurt as far as being peirced.. if anything was painful it was the clamp they used to flatten out my tongue. lol That was uncomfortable. But nothing major.. my tongue swelled.. for about 10 days before it was completely back to normal. I had to becareful eatting untill I learned NOT to bite down on the barbell in my tongue and learning to speak with it in my mouth took some time to get used too.. the swelling was the worst of it all though and I think it was well worth it. God Bless |

I guess it depends on the person (pain wise) Some, had null pain, and others.. it hurt a lot. Same goes with swelling. My friend got hers pierced, and it swelled up like a balloon, insane.. and eating after that.. well.. that could be a pain for awhile. |

my sister and my brother in law both have it. both said it hurt pretty bad. they both had swelling for a couple of days. my brother in law said it was aweful to eat spaghetti after he had it done because it would wrap around the needle (or whatever you call it.) |

Let's not forget to mention that there are some foods that pose problems after getting your tongue pierced. It took me a while to learn to eat spaghetti again. The noodles would wrap around the barbell and I couldn't swallow them. I felt like a moron, having to learn to eat again. Also, Starburst, Now & Laters, Caramels, etc. will stick to the barbell and it's a pain trying to get it off. lol My tongue swelled up like a strawberry every night for a week after I got it pierced. Take my word for it - Don't try eating solid food before they tell you it's okay. I think they told me 2 weeks. I tried eating normal food before that and it can be rather painful. ~Nytwolf~ |

I couldn't imagine it not hurting. . .The thought of having a needle stuck through my tongue, UGH! Just biting your tongue hurts, think about what a needle would do. . . |
