At times my soul seems bent to stray beyond
The bounds set by mortality's ill hold.
It presses hard against this flesh cocoon,
On pain of death, to pass outside its mold.
'Tis astral realms my mind seeks to explore,
Where I shall journey to new worlds unknown,
Which from my heart have been concealed before.
Alas! How sad to go there all alone.
If you would share tonight with me in dreams,
On wings, like moths, to brighter lights we'd soar.
A flight that's so much more than what it seems.
Somehow I feel we've done this once before.
And should spirit transmute, however brief,
Freedom awaits beyond human belief.
