As I Sit By This Fire:
by Casey Biggs

The crimson red flashes
in bright licks of fluorescent light.
The orange slowly envelopes the the red,
then faster than the blink of an eye,
it disappears.
The yellow twinkles and dances
in the summer moonlight.
Entranced by its hypnotizing spell,
I stare into the wild and natural flame.
The warmth of its radiating glow comforts me
as I sigh with content.
"Oh the warmth" I think to myself
as I compare this fire to an embrace.
The warmth is the same but
the feeling and intent is so very different.
This fire,
the one I sit beside
and all others,
symbolize hate and fury,
A hug,
an embrace,
is the epitome of love and compassion,
Yet love cannot exist
in the absence of a fiery passion...

please tell me what you think (i can take constructive critisism too :) lol)
