You need to learn to monitor your blood and its a must to go to the DR and get checked for it they can give you all the information because there are many stages to diabetes. Some can just monitor there weight and excercise others pills and others insulin shots. You really need to see the doctor if you feel this is the case. |

GA, I had gestaional diabetes, and to test for it they put me through a glucose tolerance test. It's not all that bad I guess, that is unless you have to do a 3 hour! Glucose tests are where you drink a substance that tastes like a sweet, sweet orange soda. LOL. Ask your doctor to check your blood sugar as early in the AM as possible. Make sure you do not eat right before you go to bed, and nothing to eat or drink when you wake up until AFTER you get it checked. This way, while you are "fasting" They can get an idea wether or not they need to do testing on you. And please, don't worry. Most Diabetics can contorl their diabetes with diet. It is becomming a little less likely that you will have to undergo Insulin shots. Don't stress too much. I know, easy for me to say... No one knows what it is really like until you get told you have it. Now I know that GESTATIONAL diabetes doesn't seem much to alot of people, but when I WAS TOLD I HAD IT, I did ALOT of research. Now that I have had it, I have a 70% chance of becoming a FULL diabetic within 15 years. So I totally get what it makes you feel like. And all you have to do to check your blood sugar is take a small machine, (looks like a pen) Click of 1 button ready's a very small, thin, comfortable needle. Place the tip of the "pen" On your finger and push a trigger button. You barely feel it. It is awful inconvinent to do it 4 times a day though. And if you do not have insurance, get it somehow. Insurance covers this, and without insurance to pay for this, you'll be broke if you don't have a really good under the table job as well as your other job. The other day a guy went into the pharmacy and got testing strips (what you squeeze your blood on or into to measure your blood sugar ) for the same machine I used! OMG 60 strips almost $200.00. |

Well my father, grandmother have it. If someone in your family has had it that is one way it is a gean(sp) thing you can also get it from eating baddly and if you had a lot of sugar has a child. You can how ever get rid of it. Just go and see a nutritionist(sp) and watch your diet, stay away from sugar and remember to excersies(sp). Also remember to check your blood sugar every morning and night. Also do some reaserch on it if you don't know that much you must learn as much you can because you can die it your blood sugar gets to high or low. And if you feel sick or anything go and see the doctor without hesitation(sp). I know that I will most likely have diabetes when I'm older if I'm not careful. It is on my dad's side of the family and I already have signs of it. Since you have it on both sides of the family that is how you got it. Just watch it closely and remember to eat right!!!!!!! Blessed Be!!! |

See your doctor, and Endocrinolgist if possible. Early onset of diabetes, or Type I Diabetes needs to be controlled. You may not be able to do that through diet and exercise as easily as Type II Diabetes, or the onset of adults who become diabetic later in life. |
