no, they would not have needed one. A childs cord comes from the infant, to the lining in the womb. So, Eve's children would indeed have one.   |

Sorry to post this here, because this is more of a debate-type answer: If we're created in God's image (in the literal sense, I mean), we wouldn't have belly buttons, since God wouldn't need or have one. But we need them to receive nourishment from our mothers while we're in the womb. For that matter, God wouldn't need hands and feet, a mouth for eating, a stomach, etc.. I do believe in the existence of God, but I believe that "in the image of God" is meant to be understood spiritually, in the same sense that Christ "is the image of the invisible God."  |

no lsg is right, there is no need for the mother to have a belly button the umbilical cord is formed INSIDE the womb from the lining to the childs abdomen  |
