Monsoon ~ Hey Larry ~

Tis the way the wind blows
Or how the weather may change
Measure the highs and lows
And the outcome never strange

A season of drought awaits
Although you hope for rain
Refuse to take the bait
While you manage to keep sane

The forests are on fire
The place you seek shelter
Keep your head while in the mire
Avoid the helter-skelter

Seasons come and seasons go
You've been there a time or two
Tis the way the wind blows
A way for you to get through

The sunny times are getting scarce
Now the rain comes down
You feel as if no one cares
As if you just might drown

Just tell yourself to do your best
For tomorrow will be here soon
There will be a time for you to rest
As you weather your 'Monsoon'

Tis the way the wind blows
And how the weather does change
You've experienced the highs and lows
The outcome never strange

No matter what the season may be
Or what your situation
The sunny times will set you free
A time for celebration

Tis the way life is don't you know?
As we do the best that we can

We come and go, with the highs and lows
You are you, I am who I am

Date: 7/29/2003 11:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 998    This poem certainly does parallel life and it's ups and downs. I remember vividly being in the extreme heat of Phoenix and wishing for the Monsoon's to come. Then of course after a few days of the down-pores of drenching rain and flooded washes, everyone can't wait for the heat of summer again. As in life, are we ever happy with what is happening to us 'right now'? Sometimes not. I do hope that we all can be more patient and satisfied with whatever is at hand. Thank you Larry for your insights
