I sooo would be scared to death to live in that house! My cousins use to live right across the street from a VERY steep hill, before they moved in there the city put up huge metal can type things filled with sand so that is someone lost their breaks for in the winter slid down the hill and couldn't stop they wouldn't hit the house. And their aparment was SO small if a car had hit that house the whole car would literally be in their living room. |

Wow Carrie...that sounds scary. My sister's best friend used to live at teh end of a street like that and she actually had a car in her bedroom twice I dont know how she did not get hurt or killed but she was ok both times and they rebuilt the house. I would never ever live at teh end of any street though |

In her bedroom! omg that is insane! she is one very lucky person. Where my dad lives now (I lived there for 19 years) a major highway runs right along side the side yard, I can not tell you how many times car tires have flown into our yard. No cars though. The cars usually ended up in the woods a few yards down. I don't know what I would have done if I saw a car sittin in my yard. I think I would freak. Nevermind IN my house! |

have you talked to the city about it?? maybe they can do something about it by lowering hte speed limit making the sign more OBVIOUS, have the police put that area into there regular police route this is more then an inconvienance... someone could be seriously hurt or die on the corner of nothing is done(thank goodness it hasen' thappened yet!) |

Well it is about 4-5 houses down from me. They put up a bright yellow sign with arrows going right and left and put up some poles. It happens usually late in the evening to early morning and there are clear speed signs and the stop sign is clear too. I am thinking either the person has drifted off, is busy talking on a cell phone or is drunk or maybe not real familiar with the street. The only other thing I think they could do is put a sign saying stop sign ahead. They might even already have that though I dont know I never really noticed before |

One time there was an accident at an intersection down the street and a car ended up in the lady's living room. It was pretty cool. midnightly- even if they did put lower speed limits up how many people do you think will actually follow it. I know I wouldn't. I normally go 10-15 miles over the limit.-Jenn |
