The way his mom makes it I think it sounds more like a baked hamburger...I took home-ec in school for four years and I am a good cook I guess that is what really annoys me is I know I cook better then his mom but he acts like her food is gourmet cooking. |

The way I made it is teh way my mom taught me I have tried his mom's recipe and honestly it really does taste like a big hamburger. It is really plain. I know there are a million recipes for meat loaf just like there are for chili and chicken etc. Like for instance I made chili a few weeks ago and I told him we should add a beer to it and he freaked out like why would I want to do that...Well my mom found this recipe a long time ago that had a beer added and it supposedly makes you not get heartburn as bad. I dont know if it is true or not but I do know my mom always got compliments on her chili. Then I was making potato salad and I went to cut up some boiled eggs and he about freaked...he said he had never heard of putting boiled eggs in potato salad. I dont know it is like if his mom does it one way that is the only way to do it....period. |

It's funny how people make things different. I put coffee(already brewed), in my spaghetti sauce. It sounds terrible, but it isn't. |

I hate making MeatLoaf...I don't like the feel of the hamburg in my hands...LOL!!..But, I have to...Bradley really likes it...This is my way...simple...hamburg, onion, crackers, tomato soup, garlic salt, egg, little chunks of celery...and maybe a tad of Ketchup or bbq sauce...depending on my mood at the time...I sometimes add a can of veggies...And I put ketchup on the top for the last 10 minutes..I don't care for meatloaf cause I don't care for hamburg..but, everyone else likes it....I think anyways....**Big Canadian Hugs** |

i'm not a big fan of meat, but i eat meatloaf once in a while. *runs to get a cookbook* well i wanna say this is the right one... ground beef, 2 eggs, crushed crackers, a little salt and pepper, milk, a little worcestershire (i have never been able to pronounce that) sauce, and some onion. my brother doesn't like onion so my mom doesn't put it in. oh and she puts catsup on top with 3 strips of bacon. she said the flavor in the bacon goes in the loaf, but i can't taste the difference lol |

My hubby is thankful I dont cook like his mom. He said she was a terrible cook. I generaly put seasoning salt, garlic, crackers or cornflakes, egg and A1 in my meatloaf, after that I will top it with whatever sounds good lol. Oh, hubby doesnt like it with tomato sauce so I dont use that. My mama used to make it with sausage so no you arent the only one. |
