this kind of stuff gets me so angry! monte and i once saw a 2 or 3 year old boy wandering alone by a busy intersection. we stopped to try and find out who he was and where his parents were and he didn't even speak english! we called the police and they went looking for his parents. it was so sad though. he was alone, knew no english and was completely wet in his pants. some parents really drive me crazy!!!!! |

Thats horrible. One time my parents and I were driving down a street and there was this little girl maybe 2-3 standing right in the middle of the road. There was a lady who had stopped to help and went to a nearby house knocking on the door and left the girl standing in the middle of the road! For goodness sakes she could've at least gotten her out of the road. Then about 10min. this lady comes running down her driveway (the house set far back from the road) and it was her kid. I couldn't believe it. Some people need to pay more attention and watch their children more carefully. I would be very upset if I were you too. |

This really bothers me, cause I had it happened to me quite a bit when I lived in KY....kids would be at my door all hours of the day...wanting food, pop etc.....I would ask where's mom or dad at? "Oh they are drinking or such." or "mommy's at work"....with only a 11 year to watch them....I did try to look out for these kids, but you know none of it's your fault it's the parents fault for not caring.....I did call and report this, but nothing ever became of it.... I just can't understand parents who let their kids go outside and never check on them....don't they know they are opening the door to God knows what... Bad things happen in this world...There are crazy people everywhere!!!.... |

Sorry to say 59858..Your 3 year old niece should not be unsupervized long enough to "runaway." Maybe they need a childlock on the door?? |

Sometimes kids can "Sneak out" no matter how supervigilant you are...NO Matter how people think you can watch a kid 24/7. I would have tried to find out where the child belonged. Then I would Judge by the parents reaction on how I'd handle the situation. If the parent acted like it was no big deal, I would have called Child Protective services. If they were frantic or very upset about it I'd think it was an accident. There is such thing as the child having older siblings who could have left the door unlocked, etc...there are many reasons to why kids sometimes get out. |
