The town garbage dump is open every Wednesday and Saturday, but people still go in there and dump garbage even when it's not open. When I was there last time I saw a place over in the far right of the bushes where people had made sort of a shrine of flowers and many different things, so I took a walk over to see what it was about. The man who runs the dump was there and he told me that one night when the dump wasn't open, some heartless person had thrown a dead dog into the pile of garbage and tried to hide it with the rest of the stuff. He didn't know how it died, but he said it was a fairly big dog and was too thin, like it may have been neglected. All kinds of people go to the dump, even children, and many people had seen it. Of course people were furious and upset about it, and the dump manager found a nice place to bury the dog. A woman had made a carved cross with the words "Doggy Heaven" with a picture of a dogs head with a halo on it and sitting around the little grave were chew toys, stuffed animal toys, and cards made by children. The thing that really surprised me though, was a hand-made sign placed at the dumping site that read: TO THE ONE WHO CAN THROW AN ANGEL AWAY, MAY THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO YOU ONE DAY. I have a feeling the person will be taking their trash elsewhere from now on :) Well anyway, just thought I'd share. -El Minea
