Why are you afraid of falling in love?
Are you hesitant to let your guard down
Because you have been burned in the past
By those conniving performers?
Why are you reluctant to let someone get past the barricade
That you’ve fabricated around your core?
Why won’t you let anyone see inside the real you?
Do you have something to hide?
Something to be ashamed of?
Or is love just a foreign concept to you?
Too foreign for you to understand
And too foreign for you to want to experience
Don’t be afraid to let go
Don’t fear exposing your soul
And sacrificing your naivety
Just take a breath
Close your eyes
And hold on
Give all that you have
And love with every fiber of your being
Like it will never end
And love like it will never hurt
Don’t be identical to those around you
Who have no thoughts or feelings of their own
They’ve been too easily influenced by those equally manufactured
Yet they’re too stubborn to acknowledge fresh inspirations
They only do only what their engineer has programmed them to do
They’ve been brainwashed to believe in conformity
And trained to be jaded and detached
Their reactions are automatic and repetitive
They’re vacant androids
That just slip off the assembly line
And clunk and march to the beat of everyone else’s drum
Their actions are intolerable
Why don’t you stray away?
And break free from their unemotional cycle?
Show your true colors
And question every aspect of life
Don’t be afraid to paint outside of the lines
And don’t be afraid to think outside the box
You need to feel what is real and yet strangely magical
And you must explore the outside world
Dare to dream and to imagine
Dare to open the iron gate
And release yourself from your bitter and barren cage
It’s okay to be different
It’s all right to be abnormal in the eyes of the ignorant
Once you set yourself free and dip your feet into the river
Once you have tasted the sweetness of a sea
You don’t have to live the way that their mastermind wanted
You never have to fear the mystical emotion
And you never again have to exist in the same manner as them
You never have to be
