Chris took a few steps into his lawn and onto the gravel road. He saw something moving down the path leading to the Dark Hills. “What is that?” Chris began to walk down the path, slowly. The closer he got, the louder the strange roar. Stopping dead in his tracks, Chris gasped. Before him rows of armored soldiers who had stopped in their tracks at the site of Chris. One of the men stepped forward with his bow in hand. Chris leaped to his feet and began to run down the gravel road. He felt a sudden pain first in the back of his leg, when he turned around, he felt the same pain in his chest and fell to the floor. The armed men spread out quickly, what seemed like thousands of them, ripping through everything standing in their way. Half headed towards the castle, while others ran into homes. The roars of thunder were now the background noise to screams, crashing of objects breaking at the touch of the hard floor. The armed men began to walk out of the first homes hit, leading families with a sword to their back, threatening to cut right through to the other side if they resisted. Karen hearing the screams and crashing slowly walked up a window and saw the bright yellow and red flames dancing on the roofs of homes. She knew she had some time on her hands to round up her nearby neighbors and lead them down to the rafts besides her home. But Chris, where was her husband? Karen ran into her sons room. “Joey get up sweetie, we have to get out of here!” Joey woke up with a big yawn, and rubbing his eyes with his tiny hands. “Mommy where’s daddy.” You can join Unsolved Mysteries and post your own mysteries or interesting stories for the world to read and respond to Click hereScroll all the way down to read replies.Show all stories by Author: 36994 ( Click here )
