Date: 7/24/2003 11:32:00 PM From Authorid: 15157 Hi...well I don`t meditate but I do pray so that could be a form of meditation. It is suppose to relax you. Just relax your body in your most comfortable position...people say sitting crosslegged is good. Try not to be disturbed while doing this. A couple of candles is good for Ambiance(sp?) Maybe some incense. If you breath in and out with your palms turn outward you can think about the breath that you are releasing is the bad and what you breath in is the good. That is a type of medition but I am sure there are better ways of doing it. Search the net. I bid you Soothing Peace |

Date: 7/24/2003 11:48:00 PM From Authorid: 53909 I always have trouble meditating. I can never clear my mind. I wish that I could though. I would like to learn how to and be able to clear my mind. |
Date: 7/25/2003 12:26:00 AM From Authorid: 39370 I meditate. I'll tell you what I do to relax and clear my mind. I light about 10 candles, and light some insence (strawberry, vanilla or musk are usualy the ones I pick). Then, I put on some soft music (something with a sitar in it usually relaxes me). Then, I turn off all the lights, I sit on the floor on my beanbag, and concentrate on the music. Eventually, you concentrate on the music so much that your mind just goes blank. Doing this always helps me relax. I dont know if would work for everyone, but it does wonders for me. |
Date: 7/25/2003 12:31:00 AM From Authorid: 62181 I meditate a LOT. Sometimes I catch myself meditating in public and I just go blank people must think I'm on drugs. HAHA but seriously. Here are some suggestions. Buy a guided meditation tape or CD. Get some soothing music. Insence is helpful to some if it doesn't make you sick. (some people have asthma...) Remember the most important thing is to breathe. Breathe slow and regular. Follow the breath. Concentrate on your breathing, feel the air going into your nose, filling your lungs. Breath out through the mouth. If your mind starts to wander, it's ok. Just let whatever thoughts go and return to the breath. Always return to the breath. Hope this helps. Guided meditation tapes are awesome to get you started until you get the hang of it. Good luck. Peace |

Date: 7/25/2003 4:25:00 AM From Authorid: 10245 you could try using guided imagery to get you started... pretty much the same as meditation but there's a voice guiding you, helping you to stay focused. |
