The storm raged and the couple raced. They finally slowed down to a jog."Is-is he gone?" The girl asked. "No! Keep going!" The guy shouted back. "I don't think I can!" She said clutching her side. "Melissa, you've got to! He'll get you!" The guy put his arm around her for comfort. About five more miles of running, they reached a hotel called 'The Californian Inn." Neither of them heard of it but they didn't care, it had electricity, phones and it was dry. They rushed inside, "Help! Some-Someone is after us! Please! You have to call 9-1-1!" Melissa cried. A lady dressed in black that had a tag that read 'Maggie'. "Now, what in the world is the matter?" Maggie asked. Melissa grabbed Maggie's shoulders and shouted, "You've got to dial 9-1-1!" "I am sooo sorry but incase you hadn't noticed, there is no electricity." Maggie gestured around the room. Melissa looked for the first time at the room and it was dimly lit with candles. "NO!" She shouted. She sunk to the ground and put her hands up to her face and wept. The guy put his arm around her, "It'll be alright! We will find a way out." "No Mac we won't! He'll find us and he'll kill us!" She said desperately and weeping harder. Mac looked up at Maggie, "Where is the nearest Town?" "Oh about 100 miles from here..." She said thoughtfully. "Anyways, I thank that it was all in your imagination. There has been one tourist that has complained of a man chasing them. Now, if you exuse me I have some table that need waiting on." And she stalked off. "What are we going to do?" Melissa looked at Mac. She had suddenly stopped weeping. "Well, we will get a room." He tried reaching for his wallet. "He'll get us and you know it.." Melissa said staring off into space. "My wallet's gone! DANGIT!!!!!!" He slammed his fist hard against the front desk and sunk down to his knees. Melissa suddenly felt even more sorry than ever. Maggie came storming back this time with some towels. She gave one to Mac then to Melissa. "You are making such a racket! Now what is the matter this time? Don't tell me you still believe that some 'man' is coming after you." "No, I lost my wallet." "No matter. It's on the house, since I fell sorry for you guys. You may have the sweet." She gave them the keys to the room. "It will be room 220." And she disapeared again. Mac and Melissa headed to their rooms, dead beat. When they got onto the elevator there was a man standing there in a red vest and matching cap. "Hello. My name is Brons." He said cheerfully. "Which floor will you be wanting?" "Um two." Replied Mac. They arrived to their floor. "Now, what brings you two here?" Brons asked walking them to their door. "Uh well...I think a guy has been chasing us. We-my wife and I- think that he may still be around here." Brons suddenly appeared nervous. When he looked from one end to the hallway to the other he said,"Your not the only one." "WHAT?" Mac and Melissa both said together. "Well...It's not my place to say but some tourists would run in and report that they had someone chasing them through the woods. And that would be the last we've seen of them. They would go crazy and kill themselves in their rooms." The couple looked at one another nervous. Then Brons became cheerfull again, "Well, I better be off then..." He bounced away. In the room Mac said,"Hon, he was just trying to scare us. Now hon, what you need is take a nice warm bath and in the mean time I will go get some ice." He grabbed the ice bowl and went out the door. Melissa turned on the shower and jumped in. The door opened. "Mac is that you?" Melissa asked and peered around the shower curtain. Nothing. She returned to her shower. The shower curtain rustled. Melissa was scared. She got soap in her eyes so she gropped for her towel. Something grabbed her arm and pulled her. She slipped and banged her mouth on the toilet. Blooded squirted from her mouth. A shadow hovered over her. She screamed. Then silence. The only sound that could be heard was the shower running and a body being dragged. Mac returned with ice. He peeked into the bathroom. Blood every where. "MELISSA!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!! YOU FREAKEN JERK!! WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!!?!?!?" HE shouted loudly. He turned and hurtled toward to lobby. "MAGGIE!" Maggie appeared and covered his mouth with a handkerchif and shouted,"Brons, get him." That was the last thing Mac had saw and heard before died. A Month later a newly wed went to the same inn. They asked for the sweet. Ones in the room they started kissing. He laid her down on the bed and they started kissing. But they stopped. What was that awful smell? They started searching the room. In was worse over by the beds. They lifted the mattresses and spotted two rotting corpses. The wife threw up then passed out and then there was a rustle of curtains..................
