What's The Best Thing To Do In YOUR Hometown? * HorseGirl *

C'mon, every town, everywhere has something fun to do! At least for the first two or three times. :p But seriously, there has to be something to do where you live, or otherwise you'd move (at times I'd like to...heh heh.)!

Here we have a bunch of malls to shop at. The biggest one is supposedly a mile long (it's circular shaped) and it has a big movie theatre (20-something theatres) in it. That's where my friends and I usually like to hang...either to shop, go to Starbucks (yay!), or see movies. It's nothing like NYC or anything, but that's what we like to do for fun. If we can't get to the mall...well, we sit at home and complain about how there's nothing to do. Haha. :D We have race/dirt tracks too, but that's not really my cup of tea. lol.

So, what do you like to do for fun? If you absolutely can't think of ANYTHING, then tell me what you'd like there to be where you live. Heck, if you want, trade hometowns with me for awhile! I love traveling and seeing new places. :)

Thanks for reading! I was really bored (is it that obvious?!) and like to hear and learn about other places.

Date: 7/24/2003 8:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 57232    I would like to know so bad! I'm 25 and don't have a car. My boyfriend lives almost an hour away and we always drive off to the town I use to live in for it's familiarity. I had to go drop off a bill and there was this part of town I didn't even know existed. We moved here in November. My mom is a homebody and only takes me to the grocery store and Walley World. I can't wait til I got back to school.
Date: 7/24/2003 8:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 42568    I don't spend too much time in my town; it's awfully boring. Maybe it's just a matter of having high standards.....
Date: 7/24/2003 9:07:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 8184    I love Wally World B. Monkey! lol. Too bad it's usually very crowded and it takes longer to check out that it does to shop! Yeah Bethann, I know how you feel!
Date: 7/24/2003 9:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 24319    The best thing? Heh, that's pretty hard to say lol. It all depends on how old you are. Thankfully I am 21 and can do 21 year old things. but if you are younger, you gotta go out of town to do something. I live in a part of CT called "the valley". Nothing grand to do after 9 PM when all stores close. Got a lot of fast food tho! The good thing is the "15 minute rule". ALot of the good things are 15 minutes away, like the mall, arcade, bowling, the beach, etc...
Date: 7/24/2003 9:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 24319    Oh YEAH! we have a mall that was just built about 3 years ago..
Date: 7/24/2003 9:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 24319    *sigh* I meant movie theater, not mall lol
Date: 7/24/2003 9:11:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 8184    That's cool that things are so close to ya! Too bad most places close early. Ugh. Yeah, we have a lot of fast food too! It stinks that I don't have my license yet...just a learner's permit.
Date: 7/24/2003 9:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 24319    i'm 21 and still no license.. I am goin Augest 7th. but thankfully I got friends who love to drive! LOL. Yeah, it's a good thing that things are close to me. When I was in high school it was great, the beach was 20 minutes away.. We spent many nights just walking up and down the boardwalk.
Date: 7/24/2003 9:21:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 8184    Wow! I wish I lived that close to the beach. I live about an hour or so from the coast, so it's not too bad. I'm the oldest out of my friends, so I'll probably be the 'chauffer' (sp?) for awhile. Oh well. Haha.
Date: 7/24/2003 9:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 24319    Yeah, it's pretty cool leaving close to the beach, but the water is nasty (the closest to me) so I you don't go swimming in it LOL I have seen people swimming in it, but I don't think they were too smart. but the beach and boardwalk are beautiful and everynight ( if it's nice) there is some sort of band playing.
Date: 7/24/2003 9:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 42703    Well my town is a very small and boring place, the best thing to do here is either get online,or watch a movie,or if your like the old folks, set on your front pourch and watch the cars go by lol.
Date: 7/24/2003 10:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 53427    I live way out in the country. The nearest town is 12 miles away and it has nothing but gas stations and a WalMart. The teenagers drive up and down the main street all night long on the weekends. Its sad. There's nothing to do here.
Date: 7/24/2003 10:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 54968    Are you from Texas? Because I know there's a mall called Grape Vine which is a circle and possibly a mile long. Here we've got malls, water parks, golf courses, and a cool place called Main Event. But they're all quite a drive.
Date: 7/24/2003 10:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    camping?? hiking??time at the lake?? certianlly not shopping*LOL*
Date: 7/24/2003 11:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 56446    uhm......... theres the amusment park michigan adventures during the summer, and for another week during the summer theres the Muskegon Summber celebration, which is a carnival were we get a hole bunch of bands to play here. then during the winter we have are very own uhl hockey team called the fury. thats it
Date: 7/24/2003 11:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 56446    O and The Rock Harbor Cafe its a punk club for people all ages and stuff. its pretty cool. depending on whos playing.
Date: 7/24/2003 11:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 49172    malls, iceskating and baseball.. lol
Date: 7/25/2003 12:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 26452    I have nothing until about 2 towns over lol (about 20 miles) my boyfriend lives there, so we either stay there, go see some friends or go 2 more towns away, and eat, see a movie, or see friends lol.
Date: 7/25/2003 1:27:00 AM  From Authorid: 36766    lol nothing in the town that I grew up in and there is nothing in the town that I live in now...I'd go to a big city and be lost in it w/ all the things to do
Date: 7/25/2003 1:28:00 AM  From Authorid: 53900    Well lets see...Disney, Universaal Sudios, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, MGM, Islands of Adventure, the beaches, the malls, Wet N Wild, Water Mania...(guess where I live) But really after being here for 24 years I get kinda bored with all of those
Date: 7/25/2003 4:27:00 AM  From Authorid: 10245    leave
Date: 7/25/2003 11:54:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 8184    LoL Mercury! No, I'm from NC Sporti Angel.
Date: 7/25/2003 11:54:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 8184    We have a few lakes around here, but I've never really gotten the chance to go.
Date: 7/25/2003 5:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 36757     you know dubuque, but we got this river stuff now. there's a museum, water park, aquarium etc all by the boat. one of my teachers who's on city council said that the water park is sinking because they didn't let the foundation settle properly O.O we might go to the aquarium thursday. it has like 5 tanks or something... they have a river walk by all this. it's REALLY nice! it's got these lamp post things, benches, and cool looking brick... um.. sidewalk i guess. otherwise that's about it... LOL
