Isnt that the definition of a biggot? Sadly Im racist in the since that I wont go to a Muslim or Islamic Dr because they believe women are property & I feel like they wouldnt treat me the same as a man or they judge me.All racism is ignorant & wrong.I am ashamed of myself but even though they take an oath I always wonder how they REALLY feel because it is apart of their culture, They always seem to be so serious & distrustful(probably because of people like me)Yes I know Im ignorant & would appreciate anyone who can tell me different about the culture. Thanks |

Racism is Racism. YOu can't say your not a racist if you say you don't agree with interracial marriage. Because the excuses for it become Racist Assumptions. |

This is a hard one ot answer...My mom is a good example of this. Her and her family firmly believe in treating everyone with respect...you will never see my mom be mean or hateful to anyone for any reason. But, she was raised to believe that races should not mix..especially blacks and whites. Luckly, as she gets older and popular opinion changes, she has changed and is more open minded. But those things that you are taught as a child are hard to let go of. I had several friends in high school that were black and when they met my mom, they wouldn't believe that my mom ever had a racist bone in her body...because she was very pleasent and respectful of them. |

That would be the kind of racism that is rampant today.."passing the buck" racism. Anytime someone says "No don't get me wrong, I have friends who happen to be black but,..." something racist is going to leave their mouth. We try to hide our bigotry and pretend we are good people but let's face it, most people aren't good people because they are caught up in religios bigotry or racism. Any time you dilike another because of how they look, their gender, their relgious preference you are a bigot. You don't have to shout names and burn crosses to be a bigot. It is the people who turn their backs and LET things happen that are more dangerous than the people who commit the action.*diclaimerhen I say "we" I am referring to society, which we are all a part of, I am not referring to this COMMUNITY in any way.* <regretfulhalo> |

That is definitely still racism, you can't claim to not be a racist yet make comments like that. |

I think that racisim is looking down on a person because of their skin and religion. Some religions dont have the same morals as others. Like the muslims thinking that women are property. I dont' agree with that but that doesn't make me a racist. Nor would it make me one if I refuse to do to a dr who thinks so. |

Umm.... Jestr, not to start a religious debate, but ... Christianity does not look down on women... I am not the property of any man but Jesus, and soley because I choose to be. Yeah, when I get married, I'll be his, but he will ALSO be MINE. BTW, where did that come from. Also, I looked at your picture and for some reason you look EXACTLY like I pictured you. Srange... |

but in the vows it says "to honor and obey" that sounds like looking down on women to me and btw those are old pix, can anyone tell me where to send new ones to get put up? |

honor and obey... without that, there would be utter chaos in the relationship. The Bible does say "Wives submit to your husbands". That doesn't mean let them beat the crap out of ya, or prostitute yourselves if they say so. It means obey them, but not if it causes the wife to sin. S |

I really dont think this is religious at all. It's an imprint that white people have gotten in their heads from the way blacks were treated since they brought over as slaves. The damage is done. It's hard to acknowledge it but most people are racist in their own way. Like they may not know it but its still there. |

i do not think Jestr deserved a attack on his outside appearance, just because he disagreed with what you said. We are all just really spirits, in a house/body that has been chosen for us, by the creator. I would be more concerned about why anyone would put the word freak along with the King of Kings, Jesus. But i have made worst mistakes than that myself.. What i was getting to is wasnt that somewhat racist/sterotyping of a person, prejudging them based upon their appearance?? |
