Love Letter
For days end I have done nothing but think of you. I am as a moth, drawn to your flame, hungry for the warmth you shed. My tears for you are like snow in deep winter, biting cold to drive them, drifting, scattering. The shape of your face is burned in my eyes, the curve of your eyebrows, the line of your nose, the outline of your lips are imprinted in my heart. The heart that is now in agony for you. Why do I drive you away if the love I know is true? Because I do not know. All I know is the sound of your voice, so deep and like gravel on velvet, vibrating through my body and piercing my soul. The name I cry to the sky belongs to you. Perhaps I foolishly believed I could blindly turn myself from the wanting, the needing to see your smile and the spark I sometimes see in your eyes. Was all lost the moment I fell to reason? Your happiness is like the heady scent of roses to me; to know of a love that has blossomed in the spring into summer flurrish, as wild as my heart yet as gentle as dewdrops upon new grass...as fierce as the tide and blind like time. To find that in you would cause my heart to break for joy and my mind to possess the will to hope for all eternity, to live for a reason worthy of life.
I wish to grow old with you..
