My friend Laura, she is an only child. Her father just recently died so it's just her and her mother.
Laura has always been very very smart, head of the class, and never really did anything but stay home and study. She planned on attending college in the fall at her #2 choice school. Her first choice could not accept her this year.
About 4 weeks ago, she was offered a nanny job in Germany. A once in a life time opportunity!! She thought it was just for a summer but it turned out to be a whole year. She really wanted to go and decided to put school off for a year because her 1st choice school said they can accept her next year.
The problem is, her mother. Her mother told Laura..."Please, stay with me until I die. And then you can live your own life".
How can she ask such a thing! Laura went of course, but her mother calls 3 times a day and tells Laura how disappointed she is in her because she chose to go to Germany than to stay with her mother.
