Nightmares about sharks?

For the past few nights i've been having nightmares about sharks and i was wondering if this is a symbol for something. i've always been afraid, more like petrified, of sharks and just about anything else (spiders, snakes, ...). when i watched the movie jaws i was literally shaking i was so scared. but while my nightmares have been scary, they're not as bad as one i had a while ago. a few years ago i had a nightmare about a shark and i woke up in a cold sweat, trembling. it was basically that i was lost at sea and a shark was chasing me and i had no where to go. the other nightmares i've had about them haven't been as scary, i never woke up like that, i just remembered them when i woke up the next morning. well, one i had recently that i remember was that i was in a lake, but it was narrow like a river, with all my friends and the shark was following us around while we were exploring the wildlife, it was kind of like a field trip. well, the shark ate one of my friends (sorry christine lol) and bit my toe but just cut it. in the other dream we were in a lake again, me and all my friends but it was at my grandmother's lakehouse. i was there with all my friends and a teacher i had in elementary school. we were just hanging out and fishing when these sharks came by. they were chasing us and trying to get us but we managed to stay away. that's pretty much all, i'm just interested to see if the sharks could signify something or if it's just simply me being afraid of sharks. thanx for reading.

It really hasn't, it's just made me wonder why i'm having so many nightmares about sharks and if they are meant to symbolize something else.
