It had been a long day of work for the slaves. As they always had done, the last few hours of light were reserved for refreshing their bodies with the fresh waters of the nearby river. Chris was among these slaves. He was a young man whom the years of working, right from the day he began to walk, had caused him to loose track of his own age. Light kingdom had been known as one of the most fairest kingdom of the time. The royal family was kind as well as spoiled of their riches. Unlike other kingdoms, Light Kingdom allowed the slaves a day off where they had the chance to reunite with family and friends and have a good time of their own. Although this was a kind gesture compared to other places, the slaves were not allowed to go beyond the Dark Hills of the south. Once a slave had ran away and passed beyond the Dark Hills in order to search for freedom. A friend who had led him to the Dark Hills recalled waving his good friend good-bye. After only a few minutes he heard the ghastly screams of his friend and heard of him no more. The King gathered his slaves and townspeople and explained to them, “Beyond those hills to the south, Dark Hills, stands a small kingdom. Anyone who goes beyond Dark Hills is never heard of again. That is why I forbid anyone from passing those hills, for your own good.” Chris determined and curious wondered about what went on beyond those Dark Hills. He gathered a group of twenty men and women to shield and protect one another when they crossed those hills. Scared and frightened of the mysteries that lay ahead, and leaving their own families behind, the townspeople decided to revolt against the King and take their entire family out of the kingdom to see the world.
