Young child Double dutch Mint chocolate chip Down the slide PBJ's and toast Cat's cradle and apache door string figures Brothers hatchets and sumac Scrapes, bruises bumps, scratches, bug bites The Cat in the Hat and Berenstein Bears Snowmen and igloos Pink and ruffles Huge teddy bears The fair Pictures and stories Puzzles Learning to ride a bike Swingset Hopscotch and sidewalk chalk Lemonade or ice pops Popcorn and white fake Christmas trees Green tiled bathroom Hair scraped back Braids, clips, pigtails, dresses Messy, dirty, filthy, grubby, cotton-picken' Sprinkler w/ poison ivy everywhere A club, first time at school First tooth to fall Don't forget I don't want to move on But I'm being pulled forward By myself But I don't want to leave It all behind I have to make new memories, I know But... Remembering is not as sweet as reliving I can only remember And it hurts sometimes I realize Soon I will be gone somewhere else It'll be gone I'll forget Dad's overalls and reading Watching the moon Learning Growing I can't remember but It is who I am Smiles Laughter Maybe I have not forgot everything...
