D'oh: people do the dumbest things <regretfulhalo>

One Lazy Guy: A man who claimed to be tired of walking stole a steam roller and lead police on a daring chase that never exceeded 5 MPH. To end this nerve wracking, high speed chase one officer risked life and limb to walk up to the steam roller, jump on and force the man to stop.

An Immortal Criminal: A well selected jury from New Jersey demanded that a criminal spend 5,005 years in jail after he was found giulty of commiting 5 robberies and 1 count of kidnapping. The judge explained that the sentance was far too long and in his wisdom, reduced the sentance to a mere 1,001 years. Residents in New Jersey sleep peacefully knowing that their officals are not complete suckers like the rest of the State governments in this fine nation of ours.

I shudder before his intellegence: One bright and thouroughly productive 32 year old man from Alabama died after the rattlesnake he had been tossing back and forth with his equally intellgent friend got angry at being thrown through the air and bit the man. The cause of death? Well, who knew those snakes were poisonous???

Because every penny counts: A small California town is apparently going to crack down on hoodlums who think friday night fun includes WMD. They have elected to charge anyone who denotates a nuclear weapon within the city limits a hefty fine. The minimum is a staggering $500. That'll show them!

Date: 7/23/2003 2:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 16849    Well they sentance people that long so if on one account they determine him innocent, he would still serve what would end up a life sentance.
Date: 7/23/2003 3:42:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62222    Yeah, But uh......a life sentance for some robberies and a kidnapping? Oh, does Jersey have a 3 strike felony rule Pyro? That would actually explain the lifetime sentance...<rh>
Date: 7/23/2003 4:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 16849    I don't know if Jersey has a 3 strike rule.... Us Bama boys don't pay too much attention to Jersey.

Date: 7/23/2003 4:46:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62222    ok, Jersey does have a 3 strikes law but it only pertains to seperate occassions. You have to be tried for three seperate felony charges. So in theroy, if the charges were felony charges, which I am sure the kidnapping charge was....then hence the long sentance. <regretfulhalo>
