I have had many job interviews recently, unfortunately none of them have resulted in a job. I had one at Hallmark and it was going real well and then at the end of a 30 minute interview, the woman says "Well, I still have about 80 more interviews but if your application is still in the 'good' pile I will call you in for your first follow up interview." Six weeks later, and I've heard nothing. They are hiring again and I am thinking of going back in there and seeing what happens this time.
Then, I had this great interview for this excellent job. It was at this booth in the mall that sold gift cards. All I would have to do was sit there, read books, and occasionally sell a gift card. The woman took my license and my social security card and made copies of them and then I filled out the W-2. It was a Friday and she said once everything was filed, she would call me on Monday to tell me my hours for that week. Well, Wednesday rolls around and I've heard nothing. So, I call her but I can't get her on the phone. I try for a week before I give up. What I still don't understand is why have someone fill out the W-2 if you don't intend to hire them?
A few weeks ago I had an interview at Things Remembered. The job sounded great but the hours were terrible. It would only be about 5 hours a week at minimum wage. I thought, well that will be ok because it will be at least SOME money in the bank. Well, I still haven't heard from them
My most recent interview was on Friday at Office Max. This was a disaster. My interview was at 3, so I arrive at 2:50 thinking it's better to be early than late. First, no one can find the woman giving the interview. It turns out she is still on lunch. The assisstant manager asks me to come back at 3:10 and then tells me to wait outside as she doesn't like loitering in her store. Well, I come in at 3:10 and I stand there for 10 minutes waiting for this woman. I can see her across the store joking around. Finally, she comes over and we interview and then she tells me that I am too quiet to work there. She needs someone who can sell a computer to a person who came in to buy a pencil. She said she would try and see about getting me a job working in stock or something but I'm not holding my breath.
I am so tired of job interviews! I wish someone would call me and just offer me a job! Does anyone have any interview stories?
