The White Lady Aka The Irish Bride

A long time ago, the was a fort named Fort Kinsale in Ireland. A man named Colonel Warrender was in control of it. He had a beautiful daughter named Wilful, who was engaged to a young man named Sir Trevor Ashurt. Their wedding was in the summer, and it was quite the celebration. Col. Warrender was pleased that Wilful chose such a dashing young man. That evening of their wedding day, Sir Trevor and Wilful was walking along the fort's battlements, when Wilful pointed at a patch of flowers growing on some rocks below the fort. "Oh, I would like those flowers in my bouqet!" Just then a young soldier appaered."Excuse me, but I overheared. Are you intrested in those flowers down below? For I can climb down and get them." Wilful agreed, and the soldeir left for some rope. When he came back, he said to Sir Trevor "Whilst I'm getting the flowers, may you put on my soldier jacket and pretend that I'm there? I shan't be long it's just I'd hate to be seen leaveing my post." Sir Trevor put on the jacket, and the soldier climbed down. The night was becoming young, and Sir Trevor thought his bride was becoming cold so he beckoned Wilful to go into the quarters. They kissed goodbye, and Wilful left. Sir Trevor had a long day, so he sat down, and was soon asleep. Shortly after that Col. Warrender saw him sleep. It was night, so he still thought that was the soldier, not his new son-in-law. So an enraged Colonel shot him in the heart, and relized his mistake quickly. He called the doctor, but it was too late. Sir Trever Ashurt was dead. When Wilful heard, she ran to the spot where they shared their last kiss, and saw it was stained with blood. In agony, she threw herself off the fort and died a gruesome death on the rocks below. That same night, Col. Warrender locked himself in his quarters, and with the pistol that lost his son-in-law, made his daughter a widow on her wedding day, took his own life. Ever since that Fort Kinsale has been haunted by Wilful, still in her wedding dress, looking for her husband who died by a foolish act of violence. She got the name 'The White Lady'.

How it changed my life:

Women cause trouble? Never trust in-laws? Just kidding.
