Review of Wes Craven's "They"

I am usually a HUGE fan of Wes Craven's films but I was sorely disappointed in "They". This movie is a bout a group of people who have night terrors as children, and twenty years later the night terrors return and they are convinced that "THEY" have returned to take them back to their world. Like I said before..I was very disappointed with this movie..it was very difficult to get into until about midway through the film, had some good scenes and then the ending was enough to make me wish that I had never rented it to begin with. If you decide to rent this movie check out the alternate ending, it still wasn't great but made alot more sense than the one they used for the final edit.

Date: 7/21/2003 12:56:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62100    Yeah..i was a little leery about renting it because it sounded kinda similar to "Darkness Falls"..but in the end I thought.."It's Wes Craven..it HAS to be good"..but, for once I was very disappointed. Now, a good new Wes Craven film to see is Dracula 2: Ascension...that one is very good!!
Date: 7/22/2003 5:46:00 AM  From Authorid: 47618    Haven't seen this movie yet but I heard it was awful and from what I've read, the fault lies in the film company's hands - the original script, which I have read, was VERY VERY VERY good and from what I have read they totally tore it apart and changed it and came out with the final movie. It's amazing that a company will buy a script because they like it and then tear it apart like that....jeez....LOL
Date: 7/23/2003 11:57:00 AM  From Authorid: 62095    I will rent it sometime when there isnt anything else to rent but other than that I wont run out and get it. *Cass*
Date: 7/12/2005 5:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 57232    r 16 of 33: Wessie just has his name on it, but he didn't direct it, he got the short end of the stick as far as Cursed goes, I haven't seen it but I've heard that he had nothing but trouble as far as having the powers that be telling him what to do, they made him scrap his movie and reshoot a totally different script and new script was so bad that a lot of the actors left it.
