I know I read on a different post a while back why you can't delete your post, but I can't recall why. I think it has something to do with empty space or something like that. I know there are a few that I would like to delete as well. |

I THINK that you can msg an admin and they can delete it. |

Supposedly its cause the posts are linked to search engines. But with the number of deleted posts, that can't be the reason. once when using the random story button, 6 stories in a row had been deleted..... quite a feat I'd say, considering it pulls random stories. |

I think there were some people who had gotten mad and deleted all their posts. So admin changed it. I wish it didn't have to be that way. |

I think they should change the policy on that personally. You pull up dead links on search engines all the time anyway. |

It wouldn't be good if people could delete their own posts, it can cause alot of problems. If you want a post deleted, message an admin, and we can help |

Oh and you cant update any posts after I think 7 days, because alot of times people would make a post, and then later update it saying to delete it, I think it became too muchof a problem. |

I've had a post which I couldn't update because the button wasn't there. As for deleting posts. I think we should be able to do that if we've made a mess of them. It saves putting the message DELETE in the title and having curious people replying saying, "That was a strange post" or something like that while waiting for the Admins to delete them. I'm sure the Admins are quite busy and it's important for them to delete unacceptable posts, it would ease their burden for us to delete our own posts if we have to. |

The original thing for this was that admins (not just george and ginger but the others as well) are supposed to read every post to check for suitability and G-rating. This applies to amended posts also, so an amended post needed to be treated the same as a brand new one. If people could change old posts (possibly going back years) this would create such an overload of admin work to be done that it would be unworkable. I agree however that there should be a delete button within the posts that wouldnt need admin intervention, but that these posts had to be over a certain age to be deleted in this fashion. This is easily writable into the code of the system that George uses |

Well what I heard, lol, is somewhat similar to what others said, in the fact that its linked to everywhere on the www. But I am thinking for some reason- that you can't delete posts because (and i have no idea where i got this from!) but its because when people go to search for it, it won't show up, and what you are writing is actual documentation for people to read on, and it will give them a false sense if something isn't there for documentation. haha ok..this sounds really weird typign it out. but it makes sense in my head, i assure you! |

Well in order to delete posts you have to go through Ginger and ask her if she will. As for updating them I have no clue!! |
