Thanks Carina, I am so beyond feeling tonight, I can't sleep or think straight. My baby brother is dying, I know that. I'm a nurse. I'm still in shock, too much happening. My brother has refused any chemo and I am hurting, very much. He is my baby brother, only one I have left. My other one died at eight months old of viral pnumonia. |

Thanks to each of you, your thoughtfulness and prayers means so much to me. I spent the entire day with my family, my Mom and Dad, my brother, and my sisters and my own little family. We all went to dinner together and just stayed together the whole day. I know that I've let my busy schedule take over way too much, but I'm thankful that we are all together and can be there for him. He has only one child, who lives with his mother. But I know we could spend more time with each and we just haven't. We all get so busy that we tend to not get together as often as we could. Wednesday is the surgery, like I said they will definitely remove sections of the left lung and one rib, possibly two, if the cancer has spread to his heart or lymph nodes they will stop the surgery. H e doesn't want any chemo, he is very stubborn about that. And he was a smoker, quit about five years ago. I'm still very much in a state of shock. Lung cancer is almost detected too late because of having few symptoms. Thank you again to each of you for your good thoughts and encouragement. My father in law is better, but will be having MORE tests, so far everything has been negative. We think he simply over did things and lifted too much weight which brought on the chest pain. |

Oh my ... my prayers will be with you Brenda and your family too. I know that miracles can happen because I am a 9 year survivor of thyroid cancer. My outlook is good, and I can only hope and pray for the same for your family. *Hugs* |

Thank you to each and every one who replied, and all those who shared through your private messages, The surgery is over, and my brother is recovering. They removed part of his left lung and hopefully the cancer was removed. He will need to have chemo but he is doing better each day. Today he was actually sitting up in a chair, and though he has trouble talking, and loses strength fast, he is recovering. Not much food yet, clear liquids and broth, getting him to eat is a problem. One thing I have to say, please don't ever smoke. If you do, try to quit, he gave up smoking a few years ago, but apparently not soon enough. He is still in pain, has lots of recovering to do but his surgery was much more successful than we thought it would be. I appreciate each and every message and prayer, every private message. |
