Sounds like fun I was never really any good at chess...when I was in middle school I was in teh gifted class and chess was something our teacher made a mandatory part of our curriculum...you know it would be really cool if we could have checker tournaments too  |

I have been playing chess since I was 8 years old. It has always been something I enjoyed, although there have been many times when I have been unable to find others interested in it. I still have the first book I was ever given by the man. It was an in depth look at the many different opening gambits, mid game gambits, and end plays. Yes, this could get very interesting.  |

That should have read, "I still have the first book ever given to me by the man that taught me to play chess". It was almost a year before I was able to play that man to a draw, and another year before I was able to beat him regurally. |

I LOVE Chess! I was the only "burn-out" I know in high school who had once been a member of the Chess Club. (Even then I loved messung with people's heads  ). Sadly, I will not be signing-up. Too much work here at the house, with the constuction/remodling job.  |
