At the risk of sounding like an overzealous teenager <not that there's anything wrong with that *g*> I must say, "YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Why am I using an overabundance of exclamation points, you may ask? In less than a week, I'll be leaving for Pennsylvania to see my guy for two whole weeks!!!
It's going to be a long trip. The only way we could afford this was me taking Greyhound. So when I leave, just thirty four butt numbing hours later, I will be there. <lol> He's worth it.
We've been through a lot of rough times. And I see a lot of posts from younger people, asking how to get this relationship thing right. I'm no expert, believe me. This time around though, I have to say, I've learned a lot.
Friendship has been the glue that has bound us during those rough times. In those very dark hours of uncertainty, we clung to each other as friends. And when the darkness faded, we came through just a little stronger.
This time around, I learned not to say the words "I love you" just because I wanted the phrase replied to me. I learned to say I love you, with no expectation. I learned to keep it pure.
I learned that getting angry, doesn't mean the end to a relationship. And as much as you truly love someone, that is how much they can infuriate you, in an equal amount. It happens. We're human. I learned to walk away when my temper threatened to burst forth, and I was tempted to say things that I really didn't mean.
So. With schoolgirl jubiliation <insert excited squeal here> we get to enjoy some good times. Not only do we get much needed time together, but he's taking me on a tour of some places. I'm going to Philly and Gettysburg, to name a couple. I've already plotted out the itinerary...lol..
In Philly, we're going to the historic mile. I'm enough of a nerd to really want to see the Liberty Bell and all the sites that had such a big impact on the future of the country. Edgar Allen Poe's house is on the list, as well as Washington Square. South Street looks very interesting, and I also want to see the Mutter Museum and Eastern State Penetentiary. <yeah I like the spooky stuff lol>
And then we'll go to Gettysburg. That should be quite a trip as well.
I can't wait.
So I still have to pack. And still have the bus ride to look forward to. But I'll make it.
Wish me luck. Last time I took a trip like this, I missed a bus in Chicago...lol...
