Alright, these are the first two pages...but I would like, since this is a USM wide story, that my fellow usmer's help me out as to who they think should be the murderer, who gets framed, ETC. If you have any of those comments, PLEASE put them under author only, but if you just want to comment about the story, you don't have to. I WILL delete comments that are not under author only that may suggest the outcome of the story, but that doesn't mean that I won't write your name down if I do use the suggestion. Also, I will post the completed story with who the characters were, but it is only going to be a shorter story. Thanks! (Also, if I did use you, and if it mentions something that you are not, it doesn't mean I am trying to make you into something you aren't, it was just an idea, alright??)
PART ONE - CHAPTER ONE
Camberlie Montgomery stared wide-eyed at the television screen. She suspected that her boyfriend, Brighton Laurence, was doing the same. “Cami, did I hear that right?” he asked her, shock sounding in his normally deep voice. “I’m not sure myself,” Cami replied, reaching for the remote that lay sprawled across Bright’s lap. “Quick, change the channel.” Bright rushed. “Here we go.” Cami told him, turning the volume up before dropping the remote down. “It has now been confirmed that a body of a young girl found dead behind the Market Street 7-Eleven is indeed 15 yr old Sarah Jessica Parker from Maplewood. If you haven’t been following the case, Miss Parker was found at 7:00pm. Her physical appearance showed no foul play and County Coroner Timothy Wise has yet to determined the cause of death. Anyone with information about this death, please report to the Dragoon County police, or at our criminal hotline.” The reported from channel 5 informed her audience. Camberlie turned to him. The Market St. 7-Eleven was the popular hangout for their group of friends. Although she had never met, or even had heard of Sarah Parker, she knew that there was something more to this murder. “I wonder where they found the body.” Bright asked, confirming that he was thinking the same thing. They didn’t hang out directly behind the convenience store, but down a small slope onto a grass area with shadowing trees. It wasn’t a secret spot- just somewhere where they felt safe, yet secluded from the small town gossip and dislike. If the body was found there, it would be almost inevitable that the police would interview their entire crowd, including family members. It’s not like we have anything to hide, he thought. “Bright, this is weird.” Cam said. He directed his gaze back to the reporter. “Family members told police that Sarah had told them about meeting someone, and although she didn’t specify as to whom, they suspected it was a male figure. The family also told police that Sarah had been dating Riley Thompson, quarterback of Maplewood High School. Police have also confirmed that Mr. Thompson did not return home from school today and is considered a suspect in this murder.” Added the reporter. “Figures.” Bright said, referring to his and Riley’s past. They were not just rivals in school, but in friendship. He and Cami went to Lake Shores High. “It doesn’t fit, Bright. It’s too perfect. A suspect already? It’s just not right.” Cami told him.

Riley Thompson sat in the driver’s seat of his ’98 Ford Mustang, shocked. He turned up the radio, just to make sure that he had heard right. Sari was DEAD? His Sari? And HE was a suspect in her murder? The thoughts kept flowing through his head. He pulled to a stop on Highway 467. How could Sari be dead? He was on his way home from work to pick her up for a date. How could she be dead? Riley realized that he was repeating himself. He knew that he hadn’t murdered her. He even had an alibi. Sarah and he weren’t even fighting. In fact they hadn’t even had one fight in the two months they had been dating. Sure, everyone said that it wouldn’t last- him being a 17 yr old senior, her 15 and a sophomore. But it had lasted that long and he was seriously considering her as being a long-term addition to him. The thoughts jumbled in his head as he leaned against the steering wheel. His life had been perfect until this moment. A quarter-back at Maplewood High, he was 6’2”, 175 lbs. His streaked brown hair complimented his rich green eyes. Riley had always been popular, having no problems making and keeping friends. He was never really interested in the girls- especially not the cheerleaders who thought goddesses of themselves. That was, of course, until Sarah Jessica Parker came along. The blonde haired, blue eyed girl who was on the JV pep squad caught his attention at a football game. At first he thought she was playing hard to get, but soon found out that she simply wasn’t interested. Sarah was a Christian, not too different from his family. Riley believed in God just as much as she, which was really what finally attracted her to him. He had to do something. He had to find her killer. Slowly Riley picked up his cell phone and dialed the police station. “Hello, this is Riley James Thompson. I just found out that I am a suspect in my girlfriend’s murder. I would like to help you anyway I can.”
