alright, let me start off by saying this is a local legend, and i think its true!
there are back roads all over the place here where i live. i, infact, live on one. the story starts off quite a while ago, when all this area was inhabitted by the native americans. it's said that if you use any sort of mecanical invention like cars or cellphones, from dusk to dawn on one of these roads, there are a number of things that will happen to you. first, you will smell very strong tobacco. the smell gets closer and the closer it gets, the more it begins to smell less like tobacco and more like carion. (thats guts for you who dont know). then, its said that the spirits of the natives will surround you and taunt you, some on their horses, most on foot. i tried driving in my truck down one of these roads around 2:30 a.m., and it stalled. then i got out to check the engine, and in less that 5 minutes, i had it up and running again, (it was out of gas, i had some in the bed of the truck). but in those 5 minutes, i smelled the smoke, the guts, and i felt the breeze of people running around me and my truck. the back shook like someone was jumping on it, the roof was dented with feet-sized dents, and there was dust being kicked up from all around me, but it was a completley quiet night, with NO WIND AT ALL. when i got home i was so scared i went straight to bed. i completley believe in this legend...do you?
