LOL...im hung up on "soul food" this week. This is good with corn bread.

You need a lettuce head and some green onions and some bacon. tear up the lettuce in the bowl put the onions in it. Fry the bacon pour the grease over the lettuce and onions. You can add the bacon too if you want.

Date: 6/20/2003 5:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    It sounds good but I would want to let the grease cool down first because I wouldn't want it to wilt the lettuce. I would definately add the bacon and I would rather have regular onions than green ones. The others would work for me, though. You're right, it's a southern thing. I know about this because I've lived here in Tennessee all my life. I might write a post about southern cooking a little later on tonight. There's nothing like it.

Date: 6/20/2003 5:32:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 49976    I love this stuff I could eat it every day but it wouldnt be advisable.Frankenstien I don't belive ive tried it with just regular onions. I really think it tastes better with the leaf garden lettuce stuff too instead of the store bought kind. LOL either way though this is some good stuff.
