Homicide-Prime Suspect. part 2 ~evildog

"What?", said Scott.

"You heard me. You are under arrest", said the police oficer.

"But-but I didn't do anything. There is no proof I did it."

"Your wife said that you did not like the murdered woman. You also returned to the house from your 'walk' right after she was killed."

"That could be just a coincidence"

Just then, one of the officers came up. "We could not find the murder weapon. The killer must ave taken it with him"

The first officer told him, "We will have to search your house. If we do not find it, you are probably innocent. If we find it, you are guilty"

As the police searched the house, Alison and Scott discussed his night walk.

"What did you do on your walk anyway, Scott"

"I needed a walk to clear my head. I just went around the neighborhood"

"Did anything...unusual happen?"

"Well, when I was almost home I felt queasy. I bent over and closed my eyes. I lost my balance and fell over. When I got up, I was laying on our living room floor. It was very strange indeed."

"How odd. Do you have any ideas how it happened."

"I have one. I might have eaten something bad for dinner. When I was walking, I must have been knocked down by Salmonella or something. I've heard that Salmonella can cause sleepwalking. Maybe in some deep, dreamless sleep, I walked to our house and fell asleep on the floor."

"Of course, this is only a theory"

"Yes, but it is the only logical reason"

"Maybe.."

Before Alison could finish, the police officer walked out of the house. He had a grim look on his face.

"Well", said Alison. "What did you find?"

The police officer, with a very serious expression, said, "Well ma'am, I'm afraid your husband is going to jail."

"But WHY", said Scott.

"We found this in your house.", said the police officer. And he pulled out, from behind his back, a large, bloody knife.
