Can't put a fence up, I'm on Army property and if I do put a fence up it can only be a small part of the back yard and digs up the front yard too. Are they afraid of water? Maybe I'll camp out with a waterhose tonight. But then the crappy mosquito's will suck me dry. I hate the south! |

You're on Army property? An M-16 can shell an armadillo pretty darned quick. He won't bother you anymore. |

LMAO@AS, not about the kitties, but the picture of that daggone armadillo flying in the breeze cracked me up. Also loved the M-16 idea, but they keep the guns here locked up tight, don't think I can sneak one of those home, LOL! May ask one of the Captains though. He may hate them too. I was trying to go to sleep but can't do it. I know I'm in major withdrawals now. Was just throwing up. But I'm not going to smoke. Just trying to concentrate on interesting ideas on killing armidillo's. |

I checked out a few web sites and this looks to be the best way to get rid of armidillos. It is called Whole Control. It is a concentrate which is to be sprayed directly into the areas where armadillos, moles, voles, gophers, and other burrowing animals are digging. It is not a poison and will not hurt any animals. It will leave a residual in the ground which tastes awful. As invaders dig, they will come in contact with the bad tasting soil and quickly decide the bad taste is too strong and will look for food elsewhere. Maybe you could call a lawn and garden center to check out the price. |

Well, just ask a Captain to blow it away for you. He can pull out a big gun and do that in a heartbeat. |

But Frank..That will only take care of ONE. Why not get rid of two plus armidillos with Whole Control? |

well, i once had armadillos and possums getting into my trash in the back yard, it was up high, too - i knew it only wanted food, and YES they're totally stupid, so i thought that if i put a pile of dry cat food before the trash, it would stop there, eat its fill, and proceed no further - it worked. maybe you can find the area they're entering from, and leave a few piles of cheap dry cat food out - and they'll quit digging for food. |

I was going to say what heather said. Armadillos are not the brightest bunch of rodents (and that WOULD be our state animal)! Don't put rat poison out, because you don't want your dog to get into it. Putting cheap food out for it is probably your best bet....or run over it with your car!! |

Would moth balls keep it out of your yard? We used to put moth balls around our garbage cans and it would keep the possums away so it might be worth a try. (Make sure you the kids don't get ahold of them though.) |
