Date: 6/13/2003 8:51:00 AM From Authorid: 12835 I think some people make bad decisions in their lives. Even good people can make bad choices. So I guess there are those who do make drastic changes in their lives by making better choices, and there are those who continue making bad choices... |
Date: 6/13/2003 9:12:00 AM From Authorid: 53284 People can change, but that doesn't restore life to the person that they killed. If you do the crime, you own a debt to society, so you need to serve your time. Also, there are so many people in prison who have learned their lesson yet when they get out they go back to the life of crime. I do know of one person who shaped up and is now a contributing member of society but I think that he was the exception. |
Date: 6/13/2003 9:40:00 AM From Authorid: 62118 I think you can only change if you want to change |

Date: 6/13/2003 2:10:00 PM From Authorid: 57105 I do think people can change. If they have the right motivation or help, they can. -fantasy/reality |
Date: 6/13/2003 3:39:00 PM From Authorid: 24924 People are capable of change....of changing their lives, character, attitudes, views, and actions. To be real, however, such changes must occur through one's OWN choices motivated by one's own desires and self-interest. Basic changes can never be successfully imposed on anyone. Changes accomplished by force, threats, coercion or pressures are not genuine changes, but are pretenses or changes in outward appearance designed to deceive, get release from pressures, or to avoid threatened consequencies. Much like prisoners who "change" in prison only to shorten their sentence, or make it appear that they have really changed, or to gain sympathy from those who fall for their sudden "I found Jesus!" proclamations. Positive; REAL changes require HONEST, self-directed efforts. Education, awareness, character developement, earned skills, self-worth, self esteem, all are an essential part of lasting change. |
Date: 6/13/2003 4:56:00 PM From Authorid: 50434 It depends, did they kill in self defense or in cold blood. So my answer is self defense then yes cause it wasnt intentional. Cold blood no, for the simple fact that if someone deep with in themselves finds the need to kill they are sick and just cause they get treatment doesnt mean they will be okay. Its like taking a wild animal and putting them in a Zoo, they may be tamed BUT they always have that wild side and can act on their instincs. Those who kill for blood need not deserve to be amongst humane race. |
Date: 6/13/2003 5:04:00 PM From Authorid: 55967 ABSOLUTELY people can change. |
Date: 6/13/2003 9:06:00 PM From Authorid: 61999 People can change. I have a friend who shot a guy in the head 3 times. (The guy was already dead -- he didnt kill him) He's remorseful -- he's also doing 3 consecutive life sentences, but that's redundant. ----People change when they want to change...~~The Mighty DreamGyrl~~ |
Date: 6/13/2003 10:42:00 PM From Authorid: 22080 i know how they can change, when they are dead |
Date: 6/13/2003 10:42:00 PM From Authorid: 22080 now if it was an accident, yes, but then that is manslaughter, biiig difference |
Date: 6/14/2003 6:59:00 PM From Authorid: 24845 I think it would be very hard to trust them. I would just be very cautious. I really don't know what I would do. Probably stop associating with them, that would be the safest thing to do I would think. |
Date: 6/20/2003 8:05:00 PM From Authorid: 62100 I think it depends upon the situation..I mean if someone killed just to kill..like a serial killer for instance, studies have shown that they have had the impulses for a very long time and in that case I don't think that they can change..if it was self defense or accidental, then yes, a person can change because they were never really a bad person to begin with. |

People change through life experiences. I use to be shy after bulied on and put down for a whole year. But after awhile I started to stand up for myself agine. Everyone changes look at modana she has changed her stlye several times you do always have some aspects of you that stay for ever I have always been a dreamer and that has never stoped. no one goes through life without changing a bit. But still be your self no should change that much. *Cosmic Freak* |
