Umm, So, Should I Be Worried? Would You Be?................

I was sitting in my kitchen making my daughter's costume for her end of the year play when I overheard their conversation coming from her room.

"Why did your daughter die?" I get up and go in and ask "Who had a daughter die?"

She says, "We are playing pretend, my stuffed rabbit died." and she points to this miniature suitcase.

On the floor is one of my emerald green towels. She points to it and says "This is the grass, and we are pretending that this is the box, put the box under the grass Justin."

He slid the box under the towel.

Would you be worried? Should I be worried here?...LOL

Date: 6/12/2003 3:44:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 27046    Keth, I am sorry but LMBO! I thought for a minute I was going out on a limb to sit here and chuckle because I thought it was funny. There are a lot of things that others would deem to be abnormal that I laugh at. Most times it's because it was a game I never thought of playing when I was a kid.
Date: 6/12/2003 3:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 33925    I wouldnt worry about it..Sounds like they have a good grasp on death at such a young age..
Date: 6/12/2003 3:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 61893    Nahh, it is innocent child play I use to bury all my dolls in my background..lol
Date: 6/12/2003 3:47:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 27046    They play Scott and Jenn all the time and my husband and I find this funny. She calls him Scott, he calls her Jenn and they act like us. My husband and I have sat here for hours at night and listened to them play just so we can get into a finger pointing match. "See I told you that you sound snide when you do that!" LOL
Date: 6/12/2003 3:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 11341    My son was playing with legos and amry guys, after he would kill them off they would fall into the "special spot where dead people go". Im not worried, just a bit creeped out lol.
Date: 6/12/2003 3:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    well... if it goes more then just this one incident or two.. then start to worry... it's natural for kids to want to know about death as well as life
Date: 6/12/2003 4:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 18527    Yeah it IS funny, my mom kept getting wierded out by it
Date: 6/12/2003 4:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 60018    Lol, I think it's just her having some imagination
Date: 6/12/2003 4:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 49091    I thik it sounds like they have a goo grasp on death. That they understand why the person or animal os being put into the ground and not comming out. Like they understand. I remeber asking at a younge age "why ppl were under ground with rocks that had crayong writing on them at their head". Then again I as dropped on my head as a baby :-p
Date: 6/12/2003 4:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 31765    Naw. I buried my teddy bear, Ted, once in the flowerbed because he died. Mom dug him up and washed him, and he miraculously came to life...lol...I turned out fine. *twitches spasmodically and tries biting her own ear* <G>
Date: 6/12/2003 4:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 53689    LMBO @ Lady Pheonix. I think it is normal...believe me, my brother's and I did MUCH worse.
Date: 6/12/2003 4:47:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 27046    LMBO! Lady Pheonix, you know now that I think about it I buried a few toys and stuff too, pretending they were dead..LOL
Date: 6/12/2003 4:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 19092    We used to kill army men all the time. Sounds normal to me. Sometimes we even used firecrackers, LOL. The one that makes me laugh today is when, while playing army, we'd say "I'm half dead..."
