...You never know where it will get you. Hubby called at lunch today to borrow my car for some errands, so I swung by and he dropped me off. On the way in the gate we noticed a guy with a flat tire parked near the gate... He dropped me off and left. He called me a half an hour later. The guy flagged him down to ask for a tire iron. Amazingly we had one. So they start taking while changing the tire, and it turns out the guy goes to the same drag-strip we do to race on amature night... they continue talking and the guy asks hubby what he does, he says "IT, but the job market sucks so I am not working currently.." The guy turns out to be the IT hiring manager here at USDA. He gives hubby a card and tells him to email his resume. IT Manager guy says that if there are no openings here, he knows enough gov't people that hubby may have a job soon!! :) Note to everyone: He has been applying at all the el crapo jobs here and no one is hiring... so it's not like he's not trying... even Mickey D's is full...
