Talk to a doctor you trust and ask them to diagnose the problem, then scan the diagnosis and send it to your sister. If she takes you seriously, she will be able to convince her husband to get her the treatment she needs. This is important not only for her benefit, but also for her child! |

I went to the National Stroke association web site and she has all but One symptom of a pre-stroke (forget what it is actually called), it said no matter what go directly to the ER even if it stops!! I've talked to her, my mother has talked to her and her husband. I think they just want to go with the migraine theory because it is easier to deal with... on migraine web sites I've never found any symptoms similar to what she is experiencing. The neuro did comment that some pregnant woman have symptoms that "mimic" a stroke..I don't know what that means. I've never heard of that. Why would he diagnose a migraine if she is having "fake" stroke symptoms?? My other sister has already talked to a different doc, he said it sounds like small strokes to him also. |

Found it..It's called a transient ischemic attack (TIA), or "mini-stroke" A TIA can cause many of the same symptoms as a stroke, but TIA symptoms are transient and last for a few minutes to a few days and can go into a major stroke. |

I will pray for her...there is a condition that mimics a stroke in regnant women but I cannot for the life of me remember what it is called. My neighbor had it when she was pregnant it does not just happen to pregnant women though but it does happen alot to pregnant women. Also did teh doc check your sister's blood pressure? It seems like that could cause some of the symptoms and if her blood pressure is up she could have pre-eclampsia |

Kelly, I'll keep your sister in my prayers and I do hope that the doctors will do something more for her and do more thorough tests. Can you suggest that she try to keep her feet elevated as much as possible and maybe that might help a little. |
