Do you read old stories of yours? Girlie

I was just looking at some of the old stories I wrote at USM and was thinking back to when I first came to USM. The things I used to write about and the posts I used to create. My appreciation for spiritual things were stronger back then than they are now. My writing skills were a bit sharper than they are now. I see myself now and I realize that I rarely write anything. I don't seem to be inspired to write anything of any real importance. Do you guys sometimes take a trip back to some of your old posts and read what you wrote and do you sometimes see a difference in your writing styles and views? Do you see a change in you for the better or for the worst? Maybe this place can open your mind to other possibilities.

Date: 6/7/2003 8:40:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 10915    That could be it Tarheel Girl. I was just looking through all of my old posts here. I have been a member for about or perhaps a little over 3 years and I would never think that this place could change my views on matters, but it has to some extent and a bit of getting knocked around by life has contributed to it also.
Date: 6/7/2003 8:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 20750    Yes! I do! My God I was a mess then!!! LOL! Thank God things change!! LOL! Great post Girly!

Date: 6/7/2003 8:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 3688    I re-read my old posts all the time, looking back reminds me just how far i've come.
Date: 6/7/2003 8:48:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 10915    LOL@Moon Girl. That is ok. I get that all the time. lol. I suppose each post you create shows a change in you. It seems that you start to view things differently or your personality changes in your story content.
Date: 6/7/2003 8:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 20750    Yes that was how it was for me! Gawd! LOL!
Date: 6/7/2003 8:51:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 10915    That's a good way of viewing it Dreamer. I believe each story we have written here and each story we write now shows the progress that we make and perhaps a change in character.
Date: 6/7/2003 8:53:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 10915    LOL!
Date: 6/7/2003 8:55:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 10915    I find myself comparing my posts of old to my newer posts. I see that my writing skills back then were sharper than they are now. I I think that alot of it has to do with the situations that are going on in my life.
Date: 6/7/2003 9:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 20750    Yhea! My how things change! Gawd! I'm so glad my life has turned around! Usm helped in so many ways!
Date: 6/7/2003 9:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    i go back if there are replies to them... i also check back occasionally to more distinctive ones i want to remember
Date: 6/7/2003 9:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 38683    Yeppers! Back when I first came here all that I really ever posted in was Urban Legends and things in the horror section... :P *hugs*
Date: 6/7/2003 9:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 56410    I write about the same.. maybe better now... I only read them because I get bored out of my mind.. >.>
Date: 6/7/2003 9:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 24732    I read mine all the time, being so narcissistic I am my own favorite author here. When I first came here I was 17, so yes my work has changed a little since then. But for the most part I still have the same interests, so the content hasn't changed all that much.
Date: 6/7/2003 9:59:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 10915    I find myself going in all sorts of directions at USM. I really have no personal interest in any subject. Well, writing is a favorite of mine, but what to write about is the the problem for me. I guess that is why I tend to jump from one section to the next.
Date: 6/8/2003 12:06:00 AM  From Authorid: 53961    I have learned I need to be more original and quit copying and pasting so much...
Date: 6/8/2003 12:22:00 AM  From Authorid: 13546    I often take a trip down "memory" lane. I think that my writing has gotten so much stronger from when I first started to post on here.. and I am not afraid to use my real name anymore. Its so , odd sometimes looking back.. I think it shows that I have grown as a person..
Date: 6/8/2003 12:35:00 AM  From Authorid: 31255    Yes, uninspired and probably less jaded. I'm just not experiencing strong negative emotions as much to write poetry, so I guess I should just go and count my lucky stars...
Date: 6/8/2003 5:29:00 AM  From Authorid: 59418    i do look back sometimes...and some of my stories are so dumb! lol.
Date: 6/8/2003 5:41:00 AM  From Authorid: 44321    I do go back and read some of my older stuff, and ask myself why did you write that ? LOL
Date: 6/8/2003 7:00:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 10915    Yeah. I think that sometimes when we do take those trips back down memory lane, we can see a difference in ourselves. We can also see ares for needed improvement and we can we can see ares that we have improved in. I need to be a bit more orginal too Hey Hey Paula. I copy and paste also. I should just summarize things in my own words.
Date: 6/8/2003 7:25:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 10915    I meant to say areas. See what I mean. lol
Date: 6/8/2003 8:02:00 AM  From Authorid: 33925    I have gone back and read a few..I noticed that I was alot more "upbeat" in my older posts..LOL..funny because back then I was going through alot of depressions and was very unhappy in my real life...Now I am much happier and feeling much better about myself..and my style of writing had definately changed.
Date: 6/13/2003 4:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 28363    Hey Girly, to answer your question, no, I don't go back and re-read them lol, I keep waiting for people to reply to them so I can re-read them, and usually surprised or embarassed by them when I do. I'm sure if you need a spiritual recharge you could do that too. I do remember the thrill of writing poetry on usm for the first time, that was nice
Date: 6/13/2003 4:53:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 10915    LOL@Donno. My stories old stories rarely get noticed here. Nor do my new one. lol.
Date: 11/17/2004 3:26:00 AM  From Authorid: 35160    i do once in a blue moon when i want to. or when i find by using the random story button or by someone new commenting on it.
