I think they should be labeled! Because of the dna being put into them! In some tomatoes They add dna of fish! This could be enough to kill somone alergic to fish which is usually caused from the iodine in fish! That's why! What's in my food is very important to me! |

I really don't understand why they modify the food in the first place. Someone had suggested to me that they do it because we can't grow enough food to supply the entire population. I find that interesting being that so many farmers are going out of business for lossing money on crops. |

doing this they create plants that bare more food and create larger items of food and to keep the bugs from eating them, to make them mature quicker.... so plants that bare 3 times a year they get them to bare another season(so 4 times a year) there are sooo many reasons... |

There is a guy now that has created a fruit that produces it's own pesticides. It is a organic pesticide that is found naturally in the environment and isn't harmful to humans...the problem is that because it slowly releases this pesticide on a regular basis, the insects eventually build up immunity to it...which can eventually lead to us not being able to fight the insects at all. Unfortuanately, here in the US, I don't think they have resrictions on what can be labeled "organic" so even when buying organic veggies and fruits, they may not be as organic as we hoped. |

another thing to think about... if when the food in imported in from another country the laws that goven how the food should be delt with and grown in your country doesn't mean how it's grown in the other country... for example.. bananas are almost always imported in...from places like mexico for example... they use pesiticides(yes more then one!) that are illgal to use in the states.. but because it's grown in another country it's perfectly fine! |

Packages should definitely be marked. I also think there should be an on-going information campaign, so that farmers who have few options but to grow GM foods would still stand a chance. Messing with food is a little creepy, but I can't help but think of people who literally starve when their crops go bad. So, if modifying food proves safe in the long-term, it would be very beneficial to keep it going... |

Another article I read today said that the blood and urine of americans is contaminated with DOZENS of pesticides. A couple of the pesticides mentioned have been banned for a while but still get used in some areas. |

If we label them as such, than I think we have a responsibility to educate people on the truths of genetically engineered foods. I don't think it's fair just to label them without understanding the detrimental consequences to those companies could face with all the negative sociology out there today about genetic engineering. I believe in informing people, but lets not create uneducated stereotypes in the supermarket about genetically enhanced food. |

Last I heard, the EU wants fourty years before it will import anything GM. Yeah, it will take a long time to make sure GM Foods don't cause cancer, birth defects, or scar working eco-systems... But, I just think the possibilities for the future are worth at least testing them. For now though, distribution should be limited. |

Label it. I am not in favor of tampered food. However, most of the food we eat have already been modified in someway. |

From the little I've read about GM foods, this has been done for a long, long time. They do it for insect control, drought control, disease control and bigger crop yeilds. I really don't think there have been studies that have shown they are harmful. To think people in Africa are turning away the GM foods thanks to the Europeans scaring them about it. If it is good enough for me to eat, I don't see why starving people in Africa can't eat it also. |

There is a reason why gmos are banned in 38 countries . The largest country in the world bans gmos. I am speaking of Russia . There is a direct correlation when gmos were introduced and when all sicknesses skyrocketed in the public domain . The United States ranks near the bottom in all health categories . Those countries that ban gmos rank high in these lists according to the World Health Organization . |
